Iowa Sheriff

what would a sheriff deputy have to do wrong in order to be be reassigned to the police dept?

one lieut in sheriff dept was reassigned to the police dept same county in california. why would that happen? what rules(bylaws) have to be broken before that happens? lt chad bianco was reassigned from riverside sheriff dept to the police department after allegedly accepting money, or some form of pay from NBC -for participating in an unwarranted sting investigation,The television show "to catch a predator". in riverside county - the board members didnt approve funding . lt chad bianco was reassigned from riverside sheriff dept to the police department after allegedly accepting money, or some form of pay from NBC -for participating in an unwarranted sting investigation,The television show "to catch a predator". in riverside county - the board members didnt approve funding .

  1. This is one of two things. 1. A lateral transfer requested by the lieutentant. 2. A promotion from the police department. I do not believe unless he was demoted that this is a negative action.
  2. Because they are 2 different agencies, it seems very unlikely that this would happen. It may not have been a disciplinary action, but a lateral hiring transfer initiated by the Deputy.
  3. Why do you assume the deputy did something wrong?! Often times the police departments have better pay than the county departments. The police department could have better retirement or other benefits. There could be a myriad of reasons why the deputy changed employers!
  4. Two seperate departments, if the lt. went to the police dept then they resigned from the sherrifs dept and was hired by the police dept!~!
  5. That really makes no sense. The City Police and the Sheriff's Department are completely separate agencies. Being a Sheriff's Deputy is not like some kind of promotion from the police department. You have a link to a story you reference so I can read it and try to figure it out?
  6. THE SHERIFF DEPT AND POLICE DEPT ARE TWO DIFFERENT ENTITIES. PROBABLY NO WRONG. JOB TRANSFER FROM ONE DEPT TO ANOTHER. NONE--IF THEY WERE HE COULD NOT BE TRANSFERRED
  7. I believe your thinking or source is incorrect. In most States, Sheriffs deputies serve there until they can get on the police department. It usually pays more and has better benefits.
  8. they are two entirely different agencies. you can not be assigned to another agency. you can only be assigned somewhere within you on department.this is a wrong statement or one you just made up. ----retired texas deputy sheriff----
