What is the coolest part of Iowa in the Summer time? Oh, and how Far is it from Las Vegas to Iowa?
I am planning a trip to iowa and need to know the coldest part of it in the month of July. Also, if you know the part that would appreciate my tourism more and how I can find a month to month rental there that would be great. Thanx for any help in advance.

- Well if you are taking I-80 which goes the whole way from Las Vegas to Des Moines, it might take 2 days or more. It took me 12 hours to get from Salt Lake City to Cheyenne then 12 hours the next day from Cheyenne to Des Moines. And you are probably about 5 hours from Salt Lake City. So all totaled maybe 29 hours but that was in a moving van with a car trailer attached doing 60 mph most of the time probably you will get there faster.
- http://www.iptv.org/IowaPathways/artifact_detail.cfm?aid=a_000070&oid=ob_000023 There are more than 2 million qualified I would bet. If you stay for months it's not tourism. The newspaper site classifieds for the city you are going to would help, also go look for the publications in your area...many of those do similar guides all over the country. Try looking on their websites. Craigslist has listings like these in most of it's regions also. Best of luck!
- While I don't think the term "cold" could accurately be applied to any part of Iowa in July, the avg. temp in NE Iowa near the Mississippi & the Minnesota border probably is the lowest in the state. For monthly rentals, choose your town (most towns in that area are not large enough to be called cities) and consult the local newspaper for available properties. Are you planning to live there on a permanent basis or is this a short 1-month visit? You might consider cabins on the Mississippi from Dubuque to the Minn. border. There are lots of them. Some of the towns are: Guttenberg, MacGregor/Marquette, Harpers Ferry, Lansing. Lots of cabins & vacation rentals in those places. Book early; they are popular.
