1. Have you read the story about Kate Shelly and the High Bridge? The county was originally settled by Daniel Boone's brother, Squire Boone. And the best thing about Boone County and the town of Boone is - my wife was born there! She is a descendant of Squire Boone...
2. Boone is located on the historic Lincoln Highway and was the birthplace of First Lady Mamie Eisenhower. Boone is the home of Kate Shelley, a railroad heroine of the late 19th Century.
3. Boone is also famous for Pufferbelly Days. They celebrate train heritage.
