What type of questions do the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department ask on the Polygraph test?

Wha ttype of questions do the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department ask on the Polygraph test portion of the Hiring Process? And How long does the background check process take?

1. It's not what they ask that should be important. You should concentrate on being truthful about everything. One of the questions will be, "Is there anything on your application that you were less than truthful about" Another "Have you attempted to be untruthful or evade the truth in your application process, including this polygraph exam"... Just tell the truth..... period. As the BI goes, it may take 3-4 months at a minimum. Lots of agencies send out letters that have to come back in and be entered into your BI. Good Luck.
2. Everything from "have you ever used drugs?" to "have you ever had sex with an animal?". I am not joking.
3. They will set up questions to illicit a response to it. Have you ever stolen or taken anything without paying for it.(Everyone has) Is your name---- Have you gone by anyother names------ How old are you- Have you left out anything on your application about a crime----- Have you ever used illegal drugs How long ago
4. I don't know if it's any different from the LAPD polygraph but I'm pretty sure it's very similar. They start by asking you questions about you, do you live here, is your name this, is the name of your high school blah, etc, etc. Then they start asking about your past experiences, drugs, sex, crimes... It's not that difficult. They look for somebody that's honest and recognized the mistakes he/she has made in the past. Be truthful and don't worry about it, you'll be ok. Now, the background....... it depends on how big of a background you have, the more you've done with your life, the longer it's going to take. My background took 2 weeks, but I was a college student right before so I didn't really have much experience with anything else. Good luck!
