Who is author of fiction books based in N Carolina? Each book has the sheriff's office involved in it?

I remember it was a lady who's name started with either Mc or Mac ? The novel's were based in rural North Carolina & the characters in each book were from the sheriff's office?

1. Your books are by Sharyn McCrumb; the stories involve the small town of Hamelin, Tennessee (near the No. Carolina border) and the Sheriff Spencer Arrowood and the people of the community. I have read all of the books and my favorite (I've read it 5 times!!)is "The Rosewood Casket". Which, by the way, they have just started production of a movie!! Sharyn also writes another series about a forensic anthropologist named Elizabeth McPherson, her brother Bill who is a lawyer, and the crazy cases they get into. The first book of hers I read was in this series, "If I Had Killed Him When I Met Him"!! She has a great website at www.SharynMcCrumb.com and answers your letters swiftly! A couple of books, fairly recent, have to do with none of her established characters, but are way-good reading, too! "Saint Dale" and "Once Around the Track". So glad to meet another fan!!!! Read on!!
